IN*FORMATION

May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

Hebrews 13:20-21

What does it mean to be ‘equipped’ for ministry? For life?

It is tempting to think that being equipped means nothing more than learning a few tricks and techniques to share the message of Jesus and care for those that are hurting.

However, the reality is that serving Jesus demands that we be part of a process. This is sometimes called formation and is the process by which God’s Spirit teaches, challenges and changes us to live life more faithfully as disciples of Jesus.

This formation process can sometimes be challenging, so it is important that the journey be shared within a caring community in which questions can be asked, mistakes made and successes celebrated. It takes a dedication to learn from the wisdom of those that have gone before us and a freedom to explore the practicalities of that learning in the real world. It also takes a commitment to honestly examine our own motivations with a view to handing it all completely over to God.

The IN*FORMATION Internship Program has been designed to encourage people to enter into either one or two years of intentional discipleship and formation, with a view to better equipping themselves for Christian service in their own setting.

IN*FORMATION provides multiple forums for theological reflection and spiritual direction to help ask and explore some of the bigger issues and questions surrounding life, faith and ministry.

IN*FORMATION provides a community of likeminded friends on a similar journey from around the State who can share the ups and downs of internship life.

IN*FORMATION provides an opportunity for rigorous theological learning and practical application.
