The Multicultural ministry is supported by:

• The Multicultural Ministry Group (both Anglo & non-Anglo members)

• Supporting a number of people who work with
a. Refugees
b. Indigenous people
c. Non-English speaking congregations

Praise God for the diversity of creation and the richness of different peoples and their cultures.

Pray for:

  • Leaders of our nation. Ask that they would be just, generous and compassionate.
  • Fair policy and strategies to be developed and implemented that will be fair benefit the Australian community and treat refugees ans asylum seekers as humans with dignity and care.
  • Displaced people settling in Victoria. That practical support in regards to housing, education, employment, healthcare and transport is accessible and appropriate.
  • Fragmented families waiting for visa approval. That paper work will be processed quickly so families can be reunited.
  • Emotional and physical helth of refugees traumatised by the situation in theor homelands and poor living conditions in cramped refugge camps.
  • Children born in refugee camps. That they can be provided with a sense of hope.

 

The vision of Multicultural Ministries is to:

be part of creating church communities where people are accepted and can worship and serve with their own unique cultural contributions being valued and affirmed.


Our vision is to see people of different cultures worshipping and participating together in communities of faith, enjoying and revelling in the diversity of languages and cultures that make up our great nation and make up the wider church. We seek to promote openness to other cultures among all our churches, that we may learn from one another and grow in our ability to experience and to share the love of Jesus. This vision is the expression of our experience of a welcoming, compassionate and loving God.
