Each year during the month of November, Baptist women all around the world are encouraged to join together to pray specifically for a determined Continental Union. A prayer program is prepared and you are encouraged to organize a prayer breakfast, prayer dinner or day event and gather your women to pray and come alongside Baptist women and their ministries around the world. If you live in Victoria you can obtain your program from

24th - 27th JULY
WOMEN’S LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE - HAWAII
Dorothy has reminded us of this wonderful conference. Most of us only need the fares and we’d be there in a twinkling. Do begin to pray that God will show you creative ways to raise the money so you too can experience an event more amazing than can be described on paper. If you are unable to go to Hawaii yourself, but could spare a few dollars to help someone else to go, consider contributing to the Jan Bowman Memorial Fund which was set up to assist younger women to attend the conference. (All donations to BWUSWP c/o secretary Anne MacCarthy, 42 Rathlin Street, Blockhouse Bay, Auckland 0600 or treasurer Judith Searle, PO Box 189R, Redlynch, QLD 4870, Australia.)
But let’s think positive! Here are a few reminders about the conference, straight from headquarters:
Place: Sheraton Waikiki, Hawaii Theme: In Step with the Spirit
Step 1: Registration. Download your registration form from http://bwawd.org/. Click on Leadership Conference and follow the links. Print clearly and include all the information requested. Step 2: Fill out the requested passport information, especially if you need a letter of invitation to obtain a visa . Step 3: Your passport must be at least 6 months this side of expiry in order to get a visa. Step 4: Airmail your completed form to the BWA Women’s Department office with the $175.00 registration fee. A letter of invitation will not be sent until both are received. Step 5: Remember that the registration fee is $175.00 until the March 31, 2010. After that date it will be $200.00. Step 6: Cancellations must be made in writing by May 1, 2010. An administration fee of $25 (USD) per person will apply to all cancellations made by this date. There will be no refunds after the cancellation deadline. (The only exception is if you do not receive a visa -- in that case the entire registration money will be refunded. Step 7: Hotel accommodation may be reserved online if you have a valid credit card at www.starwoodmeeting.com/book/bwa. All other hotel reservations may be done through the BWA Women’s Department office. Room reservations must be made on or before April 1, 2010. (If you are making independent hotel arrangements please note that on your registration form.)
NOTE: Those needing a visa to go to Hawaii need to send their registration form and USD cheque for $175.00 to the BWA Women’s Department, as soon as possible, as it will take longer to get a visa than it has in the past because of all the security checks. In some instances we might have to not only send a letter of invitation but a letter of introduction as well.

Did you know that if you are a Baptist Woman you belong to a big Baptist Family?
The Mission arm of the Baptist Women’s Department is the Baptist Women’s Union (BWU). The Baptist Women’s Union is divided across the world into 7 Continental unions and Australia belongs to the South West Pacific Continental Union (BWUSWP) along with New Zealand, Fiji, Papua and Irian. We belong to a large family of Baptist women and support each other through prayer, finances and friendships. All over the world there are many of our sisters who are persecuted because of their faith, undervalued because they are women, or do not have the financial means to be resourced for ministry. We want to partner with Baptist Women across the world and connect with them for support and strength.
