We could not have done it without you

Baptcare is truly grateful for the support of BUV, Carey Baptist Grammar School and the general community for our 2020 Christmas Appeal and Christmas Toy Drive.

We were blessed with

  •  Around $1200 from BUV and Baptcare staff towards gift and food vouchers for families, children and people seeking asylum;
  • More than 600 toys and gifts for families, children and people seeking asylum from Carey Baptist Grammar School (Kew and Donvale campuses);
  • More than $19k raised from our donor community towards our work with families and children (Home-Start) and people seeking asylum (Sanctuary).

Baptcare’s Family and Community Services team work with more than 1,000 children, young people and their families each year.  Your partnership and support means a great deal to families like Katie’s.  Katie* and her three children (ranging from 2 to 15) were referred to us last year.  Fleeing a significant and long history of family violence, Katie and her children found themselves homeless.  Moving between couch surfing and motels, it was hard to make ends meet.  Christmas has always been a stressful time and 2020 was no exception.  Baptcare’s team was there to provide the necessary emotional support and helped to source Christmas food hampers to ensure the family had food.  Katie was invited to our Santa Shop to choose from the wide range of donated toys, educational, arts and craft items.  She was able to surprise each of her children with a gift on Christmas Day.  With your partnership and support, Christmas 2020 was made more joyous for this family.

On behalf of those we work alongside each day, thank you to our Baptist community for your generous support of the Christmas Appeal.  We could not have done it without you.
