Church Planting Cohort
On March 1st, the Baptist Union of Victoria hosted the inaugural day of our Church Planting Learning Community. With around 35 attendees, we spent an inspiring day together, engaging in a variety of activities and discussions. Fourteen different churches participated, representing a diverse range of expressions across our State. We also had the privilege of hearing from a panel of experienced church planters, adding great insight and experience to the day.
The value of gathering in this way as a Learning Community is evident in many ways. By coming together, we not only learn with and from each other but also challenge and encourage one another, all within a safe environment of discovery. This event marked the first of three planned days for 2025, and we are excited about the journey ahead, which will also include independent activities and meetings between these gatherings.
It’s important to remember that every Baptist Church in Victoria began as a church plant. They didn’t exist until someone envisioned it, worked toward that vision, and stepped out in faith to bring it to life. Baptists are a church planting people, and our goal is to inspire those currently engaged in church planting as well as challenge other individuals and churches to consider their role in reaching our ever-growing and evolving communities with the Good News of Jesus.
If you’re interested in church planting or would like to offer support in any way—whether through prayer, finances, equipment, or other resources—we’d love to hear from you. Please reach out to us via email at missioncatalyst@buv.com.au or call the Hub Office at 03 9880 6100.
