Baptist pastoral leaders may be eligible to be licensed as Marriage Celebrants.
In this role pastors are required to fulfil both pastoral and legislative requirements, so a period of preparation is required. The BUV will only recommend pastors who have:
- Completed their Accreditation
- Attended a Marriage Celebrant Training Day – offered each year
- An awareness of marriage preparation processes: registration with Prepare/Enrich is recommended
Pastors should not accept invitations to officiate at weddings until they have a Marriage Celebrant License.
If you’re interested in registering as a marriage celebrant under the BUV, please email Pastoral.firstname.lastname@example.org
