Professional Standards Workshop
16 October 2026 3:30pm – 5 pm
NewHope Baptist Church, 3 Springfield Rd Blackburn Nth
The Baptist Union of Victoria desires that all its churches – and its pastors – live in ways that are consistent with the loving, healing and reconciling work of God. Therefore we ask all our pastoral leaders to know and practice the BUV Code of Ethics for Pastoral Leaders.
Living and leading ethically in church and society with their complex of relationships and expectations is not always simple. In order to support our pastoral leaders, we offer a variety of Professional Standards Workshops whereby we can learn together and support one another in ethical pastoral practice. After our Nourish event for Pastors this October we will be holding the following PSW you can attend in person or online.
Topic: The Power We Hold and the People We Serve: Boundaries in Pastoral Leadership
Every pastor holds real power in the lives of the people they serve and healthy ministry depends on how carefully we steward it. This workshop explores how boundary drift happens, the warning signs worth noticing early, and the practices that keep our pastoral relationships whole.
Presented by: Rev Jonathan Stark – BUV Head of Flourishing Churches and Leaders along with a panel of BUV Pastors.
Attendance at this Professional Standards Workshop will count towards BUV Pastoral Accreditation.
Price: $20 (plus booking fee)
