October Prayer Calendar

As a union of churches we are united in our belief that prayer has a powerful impact and must accompany and undergird our mission. We are excited to provide a monthly BUV prayer calendar, which identifies one prayer request for each day of the month. We invite you to join together with other members of our Baptist family in daily prayer for our churches and communities, pastors and leaders, agencies and events as we boldly go Together on Mission to advance God’s Kingdom in Victoria.

Please pray for our BUV communities of faith; local mission activities; pastoral leadership; oversight and identification of emerging leaders; generational ministries and for God’s provision of resources.

Thanks for joining with us in prayer. We’d love to be know of your prayer and praise points – Please submit to

Dangerous Prayers for Dangerous Times

BUV Pray Day

All Baptist churches in Victoria are invited and encouraged to participate in our BUV COVID-19 Pray Day on Melbourne Day, Sunday 30th August, when we will focus our prayers on the COVID-19 crisis. As we all endure the harshest lockdown in Victoria’s history, we recognise the terrible impact this pandemic is having on lives and communities around our State, our nation and indeed, our world. These are desperate times and as God’s people, it’s fitting that we add to our many individual prayers by joining collectively together in prayer, right across our Baptist family here in Victoria.

As we planned this day, we were also advised that an ecumenical prayer day had been planned on the same day with an invitation for our churches to participate. So we will incorporate this also into our Pray Day.

Our hope is that all our BUV churches will participate in this PRAY DAY in some way. The format is as follows:

1) Video Message and Responsive Prayer to incorporate in your service – Rev Daniel Bullock, Director of Mission and Ministries, has recorded a 5 minute video message and a responsive overall prayer that can be downloaded and inserted into your online church service next Sunday 30th August.
