A Thousand Ways to Help the Homeless
Belgrave South Baptist Church (BSBC) members donated an amazing total of one thousand cans of food to the Dandenong Ranges Emergency Relief Service (DRERS) earlier this year to support disadvantaged and homeless people.

Our Story – Hai family 25th refugee anniversary
My name is Pler Hai and my wife is Ida Bright, and we are a Karen couple from Burma that migrated to Australia as refugees over 25 years ago now. We never thought our life would eventuate with us settling in Australia, but by the Grace of God, our family, including my wife, my young son at the time Timothy and I with the help and support of Alan Marr, Frank Jackson and the Westgate Refugee Support Group were able to safely leave the refugee camp in Thailand for a better life in Australia.
Meet Weimin Zhang – Following God’s Lead
Weimin Zhang had no idea what a Christian was, nor what it meant to be a pastor, when she first came to Australia to study in 2005 – but fast forward to 2024 and she is set to be ordained along with 11 other pastors at the BUV’s Ordination Service in October.
Kingdom Culture Shared Through Youth Sport
Sydenham Baptist Church’s Children’s Youth and Young Adults Pastor, Georgia, took nearly 100 people to State Youth Games this year including competitors, leaders and cooks. She says the vibrant, supportive and openhearted culture is highly attractive to young people experiencing a Christian environment for the first time.
