Child Safe Standards legislation outlines action required by organisations to keep children and young people safe. The Commission for Children and Young People (CCYP) is responsible for administering the Child Safe Standards legislation.
The updated Child Safe Standards came into effect on 1 July 2022. The main change between the prior 7 Standards and the current 11 Standards is the inclusion of managing the risk of harm to children in online environments, and, cultural safety of Aboriginal children. These updates will not have significant changes within our Baptist churches and ministries, as the BUV Creating Safe Spaces (CSS) training complies with the Child Safe Standards.
