An induction is the process of introducing a new team member to the church culture and the ministry’s aims, as well as the processes and tasks undertaken in that role. By completing an induction you are both making the team member aware of their responsibilities (including how to report injuries and concerns of abuse and misconduct) as well as helping them feel comfortable in the team and with their role. An orientation should cover things like appropriate boundaries during the ministry, basic COVID safety like handwashing etc, and articulating the tasks and expectations involved with that role.
