The Baptist Union of Victoria has a vision to be a union of 500 flourishing churches, making disciples and transforming Victoria in the next 50 years. To serve that vision, the BUV Support Hub is realigning itself to better walk alongside churches toward this vision.
The Support Hub will now be made up of four teams:
- Flourishing Churches
- Flourishing Pastors and Leaders
- Director of Mission and Ministries (DoMM)
- The Operations Team
The Church Health and Capacity Building team has merged with the Mission Catalyst team to become Flourishing Churches, and the Pastoral Leadership Support and Development team has become Flourishing Pastors and Leaders. These two teams are the main points of contact for churches, while the Director of Mission and Ministries (DoMM) will oversee Leadership Formation and Communications across the movement, and the Operations Team will support the Union through administrative and financial matters.
On the ground, every pastor will continue to receive support from their Regional Pastor, now known as a Pastoral Coach, as part of the Flourishing Pastors and Leaders team. Every church will also be allocated a Flourishing Church Consultant through the Flourishing Churches team, for matters relating to the church including mission, church planting, community engagement, governance, structure and processes. Over the next few months, we will begin to embed these changes, and you’ll gradually see them reflected on our website, in our communications and in the shape of our Support Hub roles. The new structure, which can be seen below, will be fully operational by the beginning of 2027.
