Teens discipled to “Live Fully Alive in Their Faith”
TeenStreet is an international youth ministry of Operation Mobilisation (OM) held every year. The 4-day event for Christian teens challenges young people to “live fully alive in their faith.” Throughout the four days, the teens are discipled through Biblical truth, inspired into missional action, and make life-long connections.
This year, Kilsyth Baptist Church was a TeenStreet hub for Melbourne’s East. They ran the event with the help of Syndal Baptist, Heathmont Baptist, Knox Community Baptist, and Boronia Bayswater Community Church of Christ.
“We put this together because wanted to impact our teens with biblical truth and challenge them to live missionally.”
Throughout the week, the team ran a lounge cafe with table tennis, Nintendo switch and board games for teens and leaders to hangout and build relationships. They held Zoom sessions with missionaries in the field, explored Romans 8 alongside the live stream teaching time from TeenStreet QLD and discussed it in small groups, and ended each day with Praise and Worship.
KSBC also served as an online base that provided teenagers the access to leaders from around the world who joined the event online. Some of these leaders were similar-aged young people who are missionaries serving in other countries and they were able to connect with the young people at TeenStreet to discuss their faith with them.
“The Melbourne East TeenStreet hub exceeded our expectations. It was a heap of fun and God grew many in their faith.”
